Reports expose that males in attire, cops policemans, specialized devices, and personal guard are increasingly involved in major criminal activities, including murder, armed robbery, illegal barricades, and terrible assaults on private citizens.
March 2025– ASP Clive Nsiima attacked a women grocery store assistant at a Kyanja supermarket in Kampala.
May 2025– The Uganda Police Force put on hold 39 personal safety and security companies after guards were linked in heists, terrible fights, and unlawful roadblocks. While private names of guards were not publicly divulged, authorities cited bad training and irresponsible custody of weapons as enabling these crimes.
October 2025– Investigations disclosed that guns issued to personal guards were repeatedly mistreated in burglaries and intimidation of civilians, highlighting lax guidance and weak responsibility systems.
June 2025– March 2026– Senior Superintendent of Police Nickson Agasirwe, a previous senior police leader, was detained for supposedly orchestrating the 2015 murder of Senior State Prosecutor Joan Kagezi.
23 February 2026– Warder Moses Anguyo, a prison guard at Kiboga Central Prison opened up fire on his managers, eliminating Assistant Superintendent of Prisons, Principal Officer and the spouse of the Officer‑in‑Charge. A kid seriously hurt in the strike later died, bringing the casualty to 4.
