3.0 out of 5 stars Just ok, but not worth $22., February 23, 2017

I will give you the real skinny on this product. Be prepared that right out of the box, you will have knicks and have to use a marker to hide them. The unit itself is indeed pretty small, but that is ok. Is it worth $22, not really more in the $10-$12 price range in my humble opinion. It looks like something you would get at Big Lots.
However with all of that said I felt that it was easy to put together, but follow the directions. Also if you find when putting it together that the holes don't line up, turn one of the pieces over, it is accurate, but you might have to try to swap pieces, etc.
The color is not black, but a dark coffee color.
Also have something to remove sticker goo. The manufacturer in their infinite wisdom used really gummy and crappy sticker that leaves residue.
Off to use Goo Be Gone! Thanks for reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars Holds Wine, but It Looks and Feels Quite Cheap, October 10, 2016

This review is from: Kamenstein Butterfly Wine Rack (Kitchen)
It holds wine, but it's quite cheap looking. It also feels fairly cheap. For $25, I'd look for something else. It isn't real wood, and it's a slightly darker brown than is pictured. It slots together, sort of like a puzzle, and has chips along the side. I wouldn't buy it again, and if I saw it in-person prior to purchasing, I don't think I would have bought it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, January 17, 2015

Don't buy!. Let me count the reasons: 1) requires assembly but had defective parts 2) one of the Phillips head screws did not have a head at all so I had to go buy one. 3) the item is made of pieces of composite board that give off a horrible odor that made me sick. They had places where they were dented or the finish had been worn off and these showed when assembled. and the screw holes were not drilled well and did not permit it to fit together well. I did everything I could to try to fix the things that are wrong with it and I still hate it. I had to put it in the garage because of the smell. It is too much trouble to disassemble and return. I would give it zero stars if I could.

  • Create an instant wine cellar anywhere/any room (ask our Design Cener for help!)
As you may know, Oregon is world famous for our wines. That is why our company motto is:"Not only does Oregon have great wines; but we also do a great job making fine RACKS too." This 120 bottle rack has 8 shelves (15 bottles per shelf) and each shelf holds 2 rows. The first row (bottom row) holds 8 bottles and the 2nd row will hold 7 bottles. Structurally the upright/s isn't one solid piece. Each upright is held together with dowels. The 3rd picture demonstrates this. This rack is a Rustic grade. In our manufacturing process, we refer to this Rustic grade as our " A minus" grade. It's only slightly lower than our perfect "A" grade. And the average person doesn't notice any difference. See below for explanation of our "A minus" grade. As a

Quite happy with this rack. So much so that we ordered a second one this weekend. My only disappointment was the shipping costs are ridiculously high. I know it's heavy but $32 in shipping just feels excessive. Yes I know they could sell it for $99 with free shipping (and I would still buy it) but when is costs nearly as much to ship as the product itself it just FEELS wrong.

Assembly was super fast and once I shimmed it - the rack is perfect the concrete in my basement not so much - it is solid and extremely sturdy.

I opted to not use the earthquake strap, although my wife wants me to mount the rack to the wall so I will probably use some 'L' brackets and a ferring strip mounted into the concrete.

Excellent product - sturdier than I expected and I am very happy to use it & recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars this proves to be the best set up we could find, April 19, 2016

We just purchased and installed two of these sets side by side so we can theoretically hold 240 +/- bottles. After reading the previous reviews, I decided to "screw and glue" all joints for added rigidity. That included each shelf as it attaches to the uprights. The next step I did was the use of a metal strap at each joint where they stacked on top of each other (see photo) and we also screwed each of the units together using nuts, bolts and fender washers. Lastly, we secured the racks to the wall using "L" brackets and wall lags. This gave the set up the rigidity that we felt more secure with. The last thing that will be added is using stretchable cargo netting over the face of each rack to prevent bottles from flying out in the event of an earthquake (we live in California). For the money, this proves to be the best set up we could find.

5.0 out of 5 stars As advertised - sturdy, functional, easy to assemble, May 17, 2016

Nothing really new to say different that what has already been posted, just wanted to add in a rating for a great product.

This rack is super simple to put together (assuming you have a power drill), and is very sturdy. I was a bit skeptical given what looked like the smallish pieces, but it is quite sturdy upon assembly. And, as you can see in other pictures, the rack assembles in two major sections, so you could always keep the height down if that works better for you.

If you're looking for a good value, sturdy, easy to assemble wine rack, this fits the bill. But if you want something "fancy", free of knots and imperfections, that is a showcase piece - this probably isn't your answer.
